    You don’t have to do either, but the stock gears will be a big dipspaointment after adding those tires. 5th gear will become practically useless and any low end power you had will be gone. The rear axle should at least be strengthened with an upgrade kit so you don’t break a shaft, which will become a bigger concern if you go to the bigger tires. Those bigger tires will also just wear on stock ring and spider gears over time and increase the chance of them breaking from even just daily road driving. Ideally it would be replaced by either a Ford 8.8 or Dana 44. The 44 was an option but most Sports have the 35c.4.56 is the correct gearing that will restore your Jeeps performance to factory specs after adding 33 s by the way.
